Sports sims on Steam: EA Sports FC 26, FC 24 and NBA 2K25 — editions, formats, regions
Sports sims are games that recreate a real sport year after year: team rosters, rules, career modes. The series refresh annually, so the title usually carries a year or season number. From this genre, the marketplace carries the football titles EA Sports FC 26 and the earlier FC 24 (both continue the series formerly known as FIFA), plus the basketball sim NBA 2K25. The listings differ in edition, Steam delivery format (key or gift) and account region. Here is how to read them and what to confirm before paying.
EA Sports FC (formerly FIFA)
EA Sports FC is EA Sports’ football simulator: matches, career modes, Ultimate Team. The series ships annually, so FC 26 is the current entry and FC 24 is last season’s release — these are different games, not editions of one. On the marketplace FC 26 comes as two listings with different region sets.
- EA Sports FC 26 (Russia and other regions) — a Steam gift. Per the listing, the account region is chosen in the options: Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Argentina, Belarus and CIS countries. A bot delivers the game automatically, around the clock.
- EA Sports FC 26 (CN/KZ/UA and other regions) — also a Steam gift, but with a different region list: China, Ukraine, India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Brazil, Chile, Hong Kong, South Korea, Belarus, CIS, Argentina, Turkey and Kazakhstan. Per the listing, Russia-region accounts are not in this offer.
These are two separate listings for different regions — pick the one whose region matches your Steam account. This is not a way to “buy cheaper through another region”: if the account country does not match the chosen option, the gift will not activate.
EA Sports FC 24 (FIFA 24) is last season’s release, also a Steam gift with auto-delivery. Per the listing, you choose the game edition and account region at checkout, and activation takes about 10 minutes on average.
NBA 2K25
NBA 2K25 is a basketball simulator by Visual Concepts and 2K with the MyCAREER, MyTEAM, MyNBA and The W modes. Unlike the football lots, this one is a Steam activation key, not a gift. Per the listing, the edition is chosen in the options:
- Standard Edition — the base game only.
- All-Star Edition — the game plus 10 add-ons: 100,000 VC, MyCAREER boosts, MyTEAM cards, Jayson Tatum items and more.
The activation region is Russia and CIS (Belarus, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and others). Per the listing there is no Russian localization: interface and voice-over are in English and other languages. The NBA 2K series, like FC, refreshes every year.
Key or gift
Digital Steam games arrive in two formats. A key you activate yourself: “Activate a Product on Steam”, enter the code, and the game lands in your library (that is how NBA 2K25 is delivered). A Steam gift works differently: a seller’s bot adds you as a friend and sends the game as a present to the profile you provide (that is how both FC 26 listings and FC 24 are delivered). What to check before paying
- Account region. The store country in your Steam account settings must match the region chosen in the option. It is an item restriction, not a way to save money through another region. FC 26 (CN/KZ/UA) has no Russia option.
- Series year. FC 26 and FC 24 are different games from different seasons; make sure you are buying the year you want. The FC and NBA 2K series are annual.
- Edition. NBA 2K25 is Standard or All-Star (+10 DLC); for FC 24 the edition is chosen in the options. Confirm the contents on the game’s Steam page.
