Resident Evil on PC: Steam keys and gifts, editions and regions
Resident Evil is one of Capcom’s best-known survival horror series: the classic numbered entries (RE5, RE6) are co-op action horror, the remakes (RE2, RE3, RE4) reimagine the early games with modern visuals, and the newer titles (RE7, Village) moved to a first-person view. On the marketplace the series is represented broadly: some games are sold as a licensed Steam key, some as a Steam gift, and nearly every one has several editions — from the base game to Gold and a trilogy bundle. Below is what is actually available per the listings, how a key differs from a gift, and what to look at in the activation region.
Which games and editions are available
Resident Evil 2 Remake is the remake about Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield in zombie-infested Raccoon City. Per the listing it is a Steam gift, and the options cover the Standard, Deluxe, Raccoon City Edition and the Resident Evil Remake Trilogy bundle.
Resident Evil 3 is the remake of the classic third entry about Jill Valentine escaping an outbreak-stricken Raccoon City while Nemesis hunts her down. Per the listing it is a licensed Steam key with the full single-player campaign; before paying, the seller advises checking the key’s regional restrictions on the game’s Steam page.
Resident Evil 4 Remake (2023) is a separate listing for the base edition of the remake about Leon in a European village. This is a licensed Steam key for the 2023 base game only.
Resident Evil 4 — Gold and Remake Trilogy is the same remake but with an edition choice as a Steam key. Per the listing the Gold Edition includes the game plus the Separate Ways and Extra DLC Pack add-ons, while the Remake Trilogy bundles RE2 Deluxe, RE3 with the costume pack, Resistance and RE4 Gold with The Mercenaries mode.
Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition is the classic third-person co-op action horror: Chris Redfield and Sheva Alomar investigate a bioterror threat in Africa. Per the listing the Gold edition bundles the base game with a set of add-ons; it is a Steam key, and the seller’s description does not list regional restrictions — confirm activation terms for your region before paying.
Resident Evil 6 Complete Pack is the full edition of the classic sixth entry, with four intertwining campaigns and all add-ons, including extra Mercenaries maps. It is a Steam key with instant automatic delivery; before paying, check the key’s regional restrictions on the game’s Steam page.
Resident Evil 7 Biohazard is the first-person horror set in the Baker family estate in Louisiana. A Steam key with a choice between the standard edition and the Gold Edition, which adds the Season Pass with its add-ons.
RE7 also appears as a separate lot, Resident Evil 7 Biohazard Gold Edition — a different offer that goes straight to the Gold edition with the base game and a set of add-ons. It is also a Steam key; per the listing region activation limits may apply, so confirm with the seller’s terms.
Resident Evil Village is the eighth mainline entry, about Ethan Winters. A Steam key for the base game or the Gold Edition, which per the listing additionally includes the Winters’ Expansion story add-on and an extra content pack.
Key or gift, and the region
Delivery in this series comes in two forms. A licensed Steam key is something you redeem yourself in the client or on the website — that is how RE4 Remake, RE7 and Village work. A Steam gift is RE2 Remake: after payment the game arrives as a present on your account and stays in the library. Each item is set for its own activation region — a neutral restriction defined by the seller. RE4 Remake and RE7 cover Russia, Ukraine and CIS; RE4 Gold/Trilogy and Village cover Russia and CIS; for the RE2 gift the region (Russia, CIS or Kazakhstan) is chosen in the options, and the gift is accepted on an account of the matching region. What to check before paying
- Edition. Confirm the contents of the chosen option: Standard is the game only, Gold/Deluxe is the game with add-ons, Trilogy is several games at once. The exact contents are in the options and on the game’s Steam page.
- Format. A key you redeem yourself; a gift is accepted on your account via the bot’s request. RE2 is a gift, so account for the acceptance flow.
- Steam account region. It must match the region of the offer; the country is shown in the account settings.
- System requirements and the seller’s terms on the payment page, including the refund rules.
