CryptoPro CSP 5.0: what the software is for and which license to choose
CryptoPro CSP is the de-facto standard for working with qualified electronic signatures (QES) in Russia. You can’t avoid it if you file tax reports, participate in public tenders, sign documents in EDI systems or work with government portals. The software is paid, and choosing the right license type matters.
What CryptoPro CSP is for
A CSP (cryptographic service provider) performs electronic-signature operations using Russian GOST algorithms. In practice, CryptoPro CSP is needed to:
- sign documents with a qualified signature — in EDI, on government portals, in bank clients;
- file reports to the tax service and other agencies;
- participate in electronic tenders on federal platforms;
- work with certificates on hardware tokens (Rutoken, JaCarta and others).
Version 5.0 is the current one: it supports modern operating systems, including Windows 11, and newer token formats.
Annual or perpetual license
CryptoPro licenses differ by validity term:
- Annual — cheaper upfront; fits if you need the signature for one reporting cycle or are still testing the workflow.
- Perpetual — more expensive to buy, but pays off within about two years of regular use. The classic choice for accounting and business.
A license binds to a workstation — several computers require separate licenses.
How purchase and activation work
In the CryptoPro CSP 5.0 — license key listing, the seller issues a serial number after payment. Then:
- Download the CryptoPro CSP 5.0 installer from the developer’s official site.
- Install the software — without a key it runs in trial mode.
- Enter the serial number in the “License input” dialog — the software switches to full mode.
What to check before buying
- License type in the chosen option — annual or perpetual, and for which version.
- The seller’s description — delivery and support terms of the specific offer.
- Buyer reviews on the listing — activation experience with this seller.
Bazelio is a storefront: payment and key delivery happen with the seller on the payment platform. Windows keys and office suites for the same workstation live in the Software section, and the difference between digital-goods formats is covered in “Shared account, personal account or key”.
