Gift card regions: Apple, Google Play, PSN, Xbox and Steam
Why a gift card's country and currency must match the account, where to check the region before payment, and how Apple, Google Play, PlayStation, Xbox and Steam rules differ.

“10 USD”, “50 EUR” or “1,000 TRY” describes more than the denomination. For a digital gift card, the issuing country and currency often determine which account can redeem it. A US card is not universal merely because it is denominated in dollars, and a card labelled “Europe” does not automatically work in every European storefront.
Use one rule before buying: identify the account region first, choose a card for the same region second, and select the denomination last.
Match three attributes
- Platform: Apple, Google Play, PlayStation, Xbox/Microsoft or Steam.
- Account country or zone: Russia, USA, Türkiye, Poland, UAE, Europe and so on.
- Store currency: RUB, USD, TRY, PLN, AED, EUR or another currency.
A matching currency alone may not be enough. Each platform has different rules: PlayStation ties vouchers to account region, Google Play checks country and currency, and Apple does not permit redemption outside the card’s country or region of purchase.
Apple Gift Card
Apple says that Apple Gift Cards, App Store Cards and App Store & iTunes Gift Cards cannot be redeemed outside the country or region of purchase. Apple Gift Card Russia (RUB) therefore belongs with an Apple Account set to Russia, while a US card belongs with the US storefront.
Where to check: Apple Account settings → Country/Region. The iPhone language and phone number are not substitutes for this setting.

Google Play Gift Card
Google states that a card can be redeemed and used only in its country and currency of purchase, and the Google Play account country must match the country where the card is offered. In some cases, redemption also requires being physically present in that country.
Google Play UAE (AED) is intended for the corresponding storefront, not any Google account whose interface happens to be in English or Russian.

PlayStation Network
PlayStation requires the voucher region to match the account region. Sony also states that an existing account’s country/region cannot be changed. PSN 20 USD top-up card (USA) is therefore for a US PlayStation Network account.

Xbox and Microsoft
Redeeming an Xbox Gift Card adds money to the Microsoft account balance. Microsoft warns that balance does not move between regions and recommends changing the country only after a long-term move. For Xbox Gift Card Europe (EUR), compare the account country, storefront and currency rather than relying on the word “Europe” alone.

Steam Wallet
Steam Wallet codes, direct balance top-ups and gift cards are different delivery mechanisms. Steam Wallet EUR code — Europe is sold as a regional code, so check the exact product label and the current Steam store country.
Do not buy a wallet code expecting it to change the Steam country automatically. Steam Support explicitly says that a Steam Wallet code does not change the store country by itself: Steam Store Country.

If any answer is unclear, do not pay for a code “just to test it”. Single-use digital cards generally cannot be exchanged for another region after disclosure or redemption.
Choose a compatible card
Open Gift cards, select the platform and narrow the offers by country and currency. Then open the product page and verify its restrictions again: title, region, delivery method and denomination must describe your account.
Bazelio is a storefront: payment is handled by a seller on an external platform. Apple, Google, Sony, Microsoft or Valve define redemption rules, while the individual seller offer defines delivery and support.
