Phasmophobia 0.18.0.1 hotfix reworks item slot order

Bazelio editorial

Phasmophobia hotfix v0.18.0.1 assigns items and equipment to slots 1-3 in pickup order, unlocks the flashlight from slot 1 and moves igniters to slot 4.

Phasmophobia has received a small hotfix, version 0.18.0.1. It adds no new content and does not touch ghosts or maps — the entire patch is about how the game assigns equipment and consumables to quick-access slots. The developers point to player feedback on the previous slot behaviour as the reason for the change.

The new logic is straightforward and predictable: an item goes into the next free slot rather than into a position hard-wired to a specific piece of gear. In a game where half your decisions are made in the dark while backing away from something, that kind of detail matters more than a two-line patch note suggests.

What changed

According to the patch notes:

  • Items and equipment are now assigned a slot in the order you pick them up, from 1 to 3. Whatever you grab first ends up first.
  • The flashlight is no longer locked to slot 1. Previously it claimed the first slot regardless of what you had picked up before it.
  • Igniters default to slot 4.

Nothing else is listed. This is a targeted fix on top of the 0.18 branch, not a full update. It ships through Steam in the usual way — the client updates itself the next time you launch, and owners do not need to do anything manually.

In practice this means you can now shape your quick-access loadout deliberately. If you want the camera or the EMF reader in the first slot, pick it up first. Before the fix, the flashlight exception forced players to work around a fixed position that did not always match their muscle memory.

What it means if you are thinking about buying

The takeaway for a buyer is simple: Phasmophobia is still being maintained with quick feedback-driven fixes, not only with large content drops. That is a reasonable signal about how actively the project is supported.

One practical note for co-op: everyone in your group should be on the same build, so after a hotfix it is worth checking that all of your friends’ clients have updated before you try to join a lobby together.

On Bazelio, Phasmophobia offers come from different sellers and in several formats — PC versions delivered through Steam and editions for Microsoft consoles. A good starting point is the Phasmophobia — Steam gift (RU/UA/KZ/BY) listing, where the region, delivery method and the seller’s current price are shown. Before ordering, check that the activation region matches your Steam account and confirm the format: a gift sent to your account and a key you redeem yourself work differently.

If you want to compare it with other co-op horror titles, browse the PC Games section. Seller prices and availability change, so rely on the figures shown in the listing at the moment you place the order.
