Game Pass is not one identical set of benefits for every device. Before paying, first decide where you will play: only on a Windows PC, only on an Xbox console, or on several supported devices. Then check the tier and the exact option on the listing, not the term alone.

Start with your platform

The tier name is not a cosmetic detail. PC Game Pass is for Windows PC, while Ultimate, Premium, and Essential are distinct Xbox plans with their own library mix and terms. Do not choose an option just because it lasts longer: it needs to match your platform and the games you intend to play.
Ultimate and Premium: what to compare first
For Ultimate and Premium, begin with three questions rather than the plan name:
- Which devices will run the games: PC only, console, or both?
- Do you need features that Xbox assigns to a particular tier, such as a particular library, day-one games, cloud gaming, or other included services?
- Is the game you want in the current catalog for the tier you selected?
Xbox updates its library and terms. That makes the plan page and the Xbox app more reliable than old reviews, screenshots, or marketplace listing titles.
How to read an option on the listing
The linked listing has Ultimate, Premium, and PC options with different terms. Before paying, check:
- Tier. Premium is not Ultimate, and a PC option does not substitute for a console plan.
- Term. Choose a term only after you have identified the appropriate tier.
- Account status. Conditions for the selected option can differ between a new account and one with an active subscription; use the wording of that option and the seller’s terms.
- Region and platform. Match them to your Microsoft account and the device on which you will use the subscription.
- Arrangement format. Check what the seller’s page says about activation, any required details, and support before payment.
