Changing your Steam region: what to check before ordering

Your Steam store country affects the currency, available payment methods and some regional restrictions. Changing it is not a cosmetic interface setting: it affects purchases and must comply with the platform’s rules. A sensible decision therefore starts with three questions: are you eligible to change the country, can you complete every account confirmation, and is the target country genuinely appropriate for you?

Check Steam’s rules first

Steam Support says that the store country must match where you reside. After moving, it is updated while completing a purchase with a local payment method. Steam also states that the country can be changed only once every three months. CD keys and Steam Wallet codes do not change the store country by themselves.

Do not treat a service listing as a promise to bypass platform rules. Order only for a legitimate scenario that matches your actual residence and Steam’s terms. A recent country change, account restriction or mismatch with the target country may cause Steam to reject the operation regardless of the operator’s work.

How the manual service works

The current product pages describe this process:

1. Choose the destination country and pay on the payment platform.
2. The operator requests the access and confirmation details in the order chat.
3. You provide the login, password and Steam Guard or e-mail confirmation only in the official chat for that order.
4. The operator performs the available action subject to the account state and platform rules.
5. After completion, you verify the store country, end unfamiliar sessions and change the password.

The current listings state daily operator hours of 09:00–00:30 MSK. This is manual work: overnight orders wait for the next working window, and the result depends on account eligibility and Steam’s decisions.

Pre-payment checklist

• The country matches your real place of residence. This is Steam’s requirement, not a seller preference.
• Enough time has passed since the last change. Steam states a minimum three-month interval.
• You control the e-mail and Steam Guard. The operator cannot complete account confirmations without them.
• There is no known account restriction blocking a country update. Review notices, recent changes and Account Details.
• You accept temporary credential sharing. If that access format is unacceptable, do not pay for the service.
• You have read the exact listing’s refund terms. The rules differ before work begins and after a successful change.

Reducing risk when granting access

Share credentials only in the payment platform’s order chat. Never send a password through Telegram, Discord, an unsolicited direct message or a link supplied by a stranger. Do not share Steam Guard recovery codes.

Immediately after completion:

1. change the Steam password;
2. verify the attached e-mail and phone number;
3. terminate unfamiliar authorised sessions;
4. confirm that Steam Guard remains under your control;
5. check the store country and currency before the next purchase.

When not to order

Do not order when the target country is chosen only for its prices, you do not live there, or you cannot meet Steam’s requirements. Stop as well if you cannot access the e-mail or Steam Guard, or if you are unwilling to change the password after the work.

A manual operator cannot guarantee that Steam will not apply a restriction now or later. The credible signals are clear access requirements, working hours, refund terms and responsibilities — not a “zero-risk” promise.

Choose a destination
