METRO 2039 pre-orders open with edition details

Bazelio editorial

METRO 2039 is now available for pre-order ahead of its February 4, 2027 launch. The Standard, Deluxe and Collector’s Edition contents have been outlined.

Pre-orders for METRO 2039 are now live, with the game set to launch on February 4, 2027. The announcement also sets out the contents of the Standard Edition, digital and physical Deluxe Editions, and the Collector’s Edition.

Every pre-ordered edition comes with the Specialist Pack. It ties into the game’s new Blueprint system, which is intended to reward exploration and supports crafting upgrades and attachments for weapons and gear. The pack provides early access to three backpack upgrades, but only one can be equipped at a time.

Edition contents and pre-order bonus

The Standard Edition includes the game and is planned in both physical and digital forms.

The digital Deluxe Edition adds a Story Expansion DLC scheduled for release in 2027, alongside a digital art book and digital soundtrack. The physical Deluxe Edition includes those extras as well as an exclusive Steelbook and a hardback art book. The physical listing specifies a game disc for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, while the PC version comes with a code in the box.

The Collector’s Edition is planned for selected retailers while supplies last. It includes the Deluxe Edition content and the pre-order bonus, plus a wearable replica Spartan Helmet. Its listed items also include a Steelbook, hardback art book, digital art book, digital soundtrack and Story Expansion DLC.

The Specialist Pack has three options. The Equipment Specialist Pouch focuses on crafting advanced weapons and equipment more quickly. The Chemtech Specialist Pouch is aimed at trips through radioactive areas, with an emphasis on gas mask filters and equipment reliability. The Munitions Specialist Pouch is designed around finding and using rarer, more powerful ammunition.

What to consider before buying

The announced editions differ mainly by format and extras. The Standard Edition is the game-only option. Both Deluxe versions add the future story DLC and digital bonus materials, while the physical Deluxe Edition also has collectible physical items. The Collector’s Edition adds the helmet replica and is subject to the stated retailer stock limitation.

The pre-order bonus is worth reading closely: it offers three early backpack-upgrade choices, but they are not intended to be equipped together. Players interested in the future story content should note that it is listed for both Deluxe editions and the Collector’s Edition.

METRO 2039 pre-orders are separate from current Metro Exodus listings. If you want to look at the earlier game instead, see Metro Exodus — PS4/PS5 account rental (RUS).
