007 First Light adds three new TacSim weapons

The team behind 007 First Light has expanded the arsenal available in TacSim assignments. Three new weapons can now be unlocked, and each of them is tied to two conditions at once: an in-game Intel cost and a minimum Clearance Level.

That makes the addition a progression goal rather than a giveaway. You need to bank the currency and push your clearance high enough before the item becomes available.

The three additions

• DRS-7 Silenced SMG — a suppressed submachine gun, requires Clearance Level 16 and 3000 Intel.
• DRX-2 Machine Pistol — an automatic pistol, Clearance Level 12 and 3000 Intel.
• Stormberg 40´Cal — the earliest unlock of the batch at Clearance Level 10, same 3000 Intel price.

The Intel cost is identical across all three, so the only real difference is how far into the clearance ladder you have to be. Stormberg 40´Cal sits at the entry point of the group, while the suppressed SMG closes it out at level 16.

The announcement also points to the game’s Deluxe Edition as a source of extra in-game items. The exact contents of that bundle were not detailed, so the store listing for the edition is the place to check before deciding.

Nothing was said about weapon stats, seasonal availability or any time limit on these unlocks. What is confirmed is straightforward: three weapons are live for TacSim assignments once the requirements are met.

What it means if you are about to buy

First, none of the three weapons asks for real money. They are behind Intel and Clearance Level, which means a standard copy of the game gives you access to the same progression path as anyone else. If you were worried about a paywalled arsenal, this update goes the other way.

Second, the edition question is separate. Deluxe adds in-game items, but it does not skip clearance requirements, so choosing the base version does not lock you out of the new guns. Decide on the edition based on the bonus content itself, not on weapon access.

Third, check the platform and region details before you pay.
