Dead by Daylight adds Gameplay Showcase menu in update 10.1.0

Bazelio editorial

Behaviour recapped its July Community Stream: update 10.1.0 brings a Gameplay Showcase menu explaining how every Killer works, from both sides of the match.

The Dead by Daylight team has published a written recap of its July Community Stream. The broadcast covered upcoming gameplay changes and the Grimoire, but audio problems hit the gameplay updates segment, leaving part of the audience unable to follow it. To fix that, the developers wrote up the section viewers missed.

The headline item: a new Gameplay Showcase menu, arriving with the next update, numbered 10.1.0.

What the Gameplay Showcase does

Gameplay Showcase is an in-client section that explains in detail how each of the game’s Killers functions during a match. The important part is that it covers both perspectives — how the power works for the Killer using it, and how the same interaction plays out for Survivors on the receiving end.

The idea is a single place to look up character mechanics, instead of learning them the hard way mid-trial. With a roster that has grown to dozens of Killers, many of them carrying unique rules and counterplay, an in-game reference is an overdue addition.

Anything else from the stream, including the Grimoire discussion, stays in the recording; the text recap deliberately focused on the segment damaged by the audio issues.

What it means if you’re thinking about buying

Dead by Daylight’s real entry barrier has never been price — it’s knowledge. Every Killer brings its own power, perks and counters, and most of that information currently lives in wikis and video guides rather than inside the game. Moving it into a built-in menu lowers the learning curve: you can check who you are up against without leaving the client.

So the practical takeaway is straightforward. If the game’s reputation as newcomer-hostile has kept you on the fence, update 10.1.0 makes the first weeks easier. If you already own it and stopped playing a while ago, the reference section is useful for catching up — the roster and the rules shift noticeably between long breaks.

On Bazelio the base game is listed as Dead by Daylight — Steam gift; check the current price and delivery terms directly in the listing, since sellers update them regularly. Keep in mind that character chapters and in-game currency are sold separately from the base game — that’s the standard structure for DbD, and it matters if you already have a specific Killer in mind.

Other editions, add-ons and comparable multiplayer titles are grouped in the PC Games section. The recap did not attach a release date to update 10.1.0, so watch the studio’s official channels for timing.
