Tools for musicians: Splice, Epidemic Sound, Songsterr and iZotope Ozone
A musician’s working toolkit has long since moved to online services: samples and presets live in Splice, background music for videos in Epidemic Sound, learning parts in Songsterr, and mastering in plugins like iZotope Ozone. Here are the catalogue offers for each service and the formats they are sold in.
Splice: samples, presets and Rent-to-Own
Splice is a subscription sample library: sounds are downloaded with credits and used in your tracks royalty-free. Splice Sounds+ — subscription with credits for 1–12 months is set up on your personal Splice account; the variants differ in term and credit amount (from 100 to 2400), with separate options for renewing an active subscription. A new sign-up requires an email with no existing Splice account, and the 12-month plan is available for new accounts only. Beyond samples, the subscription includes MIDI packs, presets and the Rent-to-Own program for plugins such as Serum, plus integration with Ableton and Studio One.
Epidemic Sound: licensed music for content
Epidemic Sound is a library of music and sound effects for videos, streams and podcasts. Epidemic Sound — commercial account for 1 month is the issued-account format: the seller creates a new commercial account for your order and hands over the login details with the option to change the password and email to your own. After payment you need to send the seller a unique 16-digit code — the order is not delivered without it, and delivery itself takes 15 minutes to 2 hours. Check Epidemic Sound’s licensing terms for your platforms on its website.
Songsterr: tabs with an interactive player
Songsterr is a tab service for guitar, bass and drums with a synchronized player: you can slow down the tempo, loop sections, and mute or solo individual instruments. The catalogue has two Songsterr Plus listings, and the difference between them is the format:
- Songsterr Plus — 1-month subscription on your account — strictly on your existing account: it requires login-and-password access (if you sign in with Google, set a password in advance via email reset) and no active subscriptions.
- Songsterr Plus — personal account subscription — the format is chosen in the options: your own account, an account set up on your email, or a new account from the seller; delivery takes up to 12 hours.
Access formats are covered in detail in our guide “Shared account, personal account or key”.
iZotope Ozone 11 Elements: mastering without a subscription
The only item in this set from the Software category is iZotope Ozone 11 Elements — license key. It is a perpetual license, not a subscription: the key is activated once in your iZotope account and stays yours, with no renewals or recurring fees. The Elements edition is the base set of mastering modules (AI assistant, EQ, Upward Compress, maximizer); before buying, make sure it is the edition you need rather than Standard or Advanced.
What to check before paying
- The offer format: setup on your own account, an issued account, or an activation key.
- Account requirements: an email with no registered account for Splice, login-and-password access for Songsterr.
- The delivery flow: manual delivery takes from a few minutes up to 12 hours; if you shared sign-in details, change the password afterwards.
- Compatibility: for Ozone — support for your DAW and operating system.
- The warranty and refund terms of the specific offer on the seller’s page.
Bazelio is a storefront: payment is taken by the seller on the payment platform, and the seller handles delivery and support. Subscription services are collected in the Subscriptions category, perpetual licenses in Software. And if you want to generate tracks with AI rather than only arrange samples — see our guide “AI for sound”.
