Airalo voucher: account balance or a ready eSIM package — which should you choose?
How an Airalo balance voucher differs from a voucher for a specific eSIM package, where to redeem it, and what to check before paying.

An Airalo voucher is a code for your Airalo account, not a physical SIM card. The key question before paying is whether the code adds Airmoney balance or immediately adds a particular eSIM package. That determines whether you choose the destination and data allowance after redemption or receive a predefined package.
The catalog includes an Airalo wallet top-up card and an Airalo voucher. Both listings describe their code as an account-balance top-up, so use the denomination you select, the individual seller terms, and the Airmoney amount you need — not the word “Global” in a listing title — to make the choice.
Two types of Airalo code
Airalo’s official help centre distinguishes two scenarios.
- An Airmoney voucher adds funds to your account balance. You then choose an eSIM and data package in Airalo.
- An eSIM voucher adds one particular eSIM package to the account. Once redeemed, it appears under My eSIMs, where installation and usage instructions are available.
The distinction matters more than the name used by a marketplace listing. If you have not yet chosen a destination or route, a balance voucher is usually more flexible because you select the package inside Airalo later. If a seller explicitly states a ready package, first check its country or region, data allowance, and validity period — redeeming it does not turn it into general account balance.

Do not confuse a voucher code with a discount code. A discount code is applied at checkout and follows its own terms, while Airalo’s official voucher flow uses Airmoney & Membership → Redeem Voucher. You need an Airalo account for either voucher type.
What to do after receiving the code
- Sign in to your Airalo account in the app or on the website.
- Open your profile, then Airmoney & Membership, and choose Redeem Voucher.
- Enter the code and wait for redemption confirmation.
- If the code added balance, choose the eSIM package you need in Airalo. If it was an eSIM voucher, find the added package in My eSIMs and open its instructions.

Checklist before paying
- Code type. The seller’s page should make clear whether it adds balance or supplies a particular package.
- Denomination and selected option. Confirm the exact option if the card offers several amounts.
- Device compatibility. Make sure your device supports eSIM before buying a package.
- The package in Airalo. With a balance top-up, separately confirm that the destination, region, data allowance, and validity work for your trip.
- Seller terms. Check code delivery, activation rules, and support on the payment page before using the code.
