Enshrouded 1.0 opens the full Embervale map

Bazelio editorial

Enshrouded is set to receive its 1.0 full release tomorrow, opening the complete map, adding Cinder’s Cradle, and concluding Embervale’s story.

Enshrouded is scheduled for its full 1.0 release tomorrow. The update opens up the complete Embervale world, with the northern Cinder’s Cradle region joining the map. This new area combines lava-swept ruins below with floating islands above, while the Shroud connects its contrasting environments.

The release also brings the current Embervale storyline to its conclusion. Players can expect newly accessible locations in existing regions, previously sealed locations, and two additional Hollow Halls alongside the new northern biome.

Major additions in version 1.0

The player level cap will rise to 50, while fully upgraded equipment can reach level 55. A new progression tier includes further crafting options, gear, tools, consumables, arrows, and spells. Magic receives particular attention: nine new spell types are being added, existing spells gain more progression tiers, and wands receive heavy attacks. Players will also be able to summon skeletal companions.

Every spell will have an eternal version for the late game, removing the need to manage spell charges for those variants. The update also revises combat systems more broadly, including enemy behaviour, weapon and skill balancing, ranged targeting, camera handling, and character movement.

Cinder’s Cradle introduces a new enemy faction. Together with new variants for established factions, the developers list 37 additional enemy types and variants. The update also adds new challenges and achievements tied to the biome.

Builders get a new toolset called Sparkworks. It is designed for creating connected interactive systems in player worlds, from switches to traps, puzzles, combat encounters, and custom activities. Its logic connections can be configured through a dedicated graph editor. Other building changes include a free-flight construction skill and storage upgrades that can be performed without emptying the chest first.

On the technical side, the team is introducing a new distant-detail rendering method, changes to lighting, HDR support for compatible displays, and performance and memory improvements. Lore documents will be voiced in English, German, and Mandarin Chinese, and key crafting survivors and quest-givers receive voice-over in those languages as well.

Existing players should prepare for a few migration-related changes. On first loading a previous save in 1.0, the skill tree will reset and points must be assigned again. Saves created in version 0.8 or earlier will be backed up before being moved to the new save format. Custom key bindings will also return to default settings.

What this means if you are considering the game

For new players, version 1.0 includes revisions to the opening hours. The developers have added more early loot opportunities, adjusted routes and enemy camps to make navigation clearer, and reworked parts of crafting to reduce routine resource gathering. Returning players will have a new region, expanded progression, and the conclusion of the current story to explore.
